# Privacy and security of your client records

> How Ombra protects your client records: storage in the EU, records only for you, a log of every opened record, and export everything whenever you like.

## What you’re entrusted with deserves care.

Your professional secrecy, well kept: your records in the EU, in your own workspace and always yours to take.

## Stored in the EU.

Your records are in European data centres, the backups too.

## Only you see your records.

Not even a colleague in the same practice can get to them. You share intake requests and groups only with the people you invite.

## Every opened record logged.

Ombra keeps track of when a record is opened or changed. No names or note text in the access log.

## Export your records, in one go.

Your records, notes and documents in one ZIP. You’re never locked in to Ombra.

## You sign in on a new laptop.

1. You type your email address and password.
2. The laptop is new, so Ombra emails you a one-time code. If you’ve connected an authenticator app, Ombra asks for that code too.
3. Only then do your records open.

## Good to know.

### Where is client data stored?

In the EU, in Ireland. The backups stay in the EU too. If you connect Gmail or Outlook, your emails go through that service.

### Can a colleague see my records?

No. Your client records are yours alone, even if you work with others in a practice. You share intake requests and groups only with the people you invite: someone who co-leads a group sees what is in that group.

### Can I export my records if I stop using Ombra?

Yes. You download everything in one ZIP: your data and each document as a separate file. If you close your account, you can still reopen it for 30 days.
